Painter

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating work on a variety of residential and commercial projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and professionalism.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching and filling holes and cracks. 
• Applying primers, sealers, paints, varnishes and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces. 
• Mixing paints and finishes to achieve specified colours and textures. 
• Setting up and maintaining work areas, including ladders, scaffolding and protective coverings. 
• Measuring and estimating materials required for projects. 
• Applying paints using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment. 
• Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment and work sites. 
• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met. 
• Following workplace health and safety requirements at all times. 
• Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members and clients. 

About You

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification. 
• Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time work experience as a Painter. 
• Experience in residential and commercial painting projects. 
• Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials and safety procedures. 
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights when required. 
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
