Communications Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Communications Technician to join our growing team. The primary focus of this role is the installation, fit-off, and commissioning of communications cabinets and associated infrastructure across commercial and industrial projects.

This position would suit someone with hands-on experience in communications, data, fibre, or network infrastructure installations. An electrical licence is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit-off and terminate communications cabinets, racks, and enclosures.

• Install and dress copper and fibre optic cabling.

• Install patch panels, switches, routers, and associated communications equipment.

• Label, test, and document communications installations.

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and project documentation.

• Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety.

• Liaise with project managers, electricians, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

About You

• Experience fitting off communications cabinets and communications infrastructure.

• Knowledge of structured cabling systems and industry best practices.

• Experience with copper and/or fibre optic terminations.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

• Current driver's licence.

• White Card.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Open Cabling Registration (ACMA).

• Fibre optic certification or experience.

• Electrical Licence (preferred but not essential).

• Experience in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

• Testing and fault-finding experience.
