Storeperson / Warehouse & Fleet Coordinator

About the Role

Gallant Plumbing is a one of Melbourne's largest commercial and residential maintenance plumbers. We are currently looking for an experienced, hands-on Storeperson to keep our warehouse and operations running smoothly. This is a part-time role (24 hours per week) which can be worked over three or four days — and would suit a tradesperson looking to wind down from full-time work while still doing something meaningful and staying active. Candidates with other backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

You'll be the go-to person for our plumbers, making sure our compact warehouse is organised, equipment is in good shape, and the vehicle fleet is maintained and roadworthy. It's a varied, independent role where your practical knowledge and initiative will be genuinely valued.

What You'll Be Doing

Warehouse management

• Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and well-organised

• Manage storage of equipment including ladders, scaffolding, offcuts, and materials

• Maintain small stocks of consumables and reorder as needed

• Manage disposal of scrap metal and other waste

Fleet coordination

• Conduct periodic inspections of our plumber vehicles

• Book vehicles in for servicing and repairs

• Keep maintenance records up to date

• Hold a current driver's licence for fleet coordination responsibilities

Equipment & tools

• Maintain and organise servicing equipment including jetter pumps, trailers, B-presses, welding equipment, and gas bottles

• Carry out minor repairs yourself where practical

• Conduct periodic inspections of safety equipment

• Provide advice and recommendations to management on equipment purchases and upgrades

• Managing testing and tagging of devices (additional training will be provided if needed)

Team support

• Act as a point of contact for plumbers — helping them find what they need and flagging any issues

• Work closely with operations to keep everything running efficiently

About You

• Trade background preferred — plumbing is a great fit, but any trade experience is valued

• Handy and self-sufficient: you're comfortable doing minor repairs and don't need to outsource everything

• Organised and tidy — you take pride in a well-run warehouse

• A practical problem-solver who uses common sense and initiative

• Happy working part-time and managing your own day

• Looking for a part-time but rewarding role — whether you're winding down toward retirement or simply prefer a good work-life balance

• Must have Australian work rights
