Trade Assistant

C&H Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join our client’s busy engineering workshop. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid workshop experience who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting tradespeople with general engineering and fabrication tasks
• Grinding and cutting materials
• Operating hand and power tools
• Performing general workshop duties (cleaning, sweeping, emptying bins)
• Assisting with basic spray painting (priming fresh welds before final coating)
• Supporting day-to-day production and workshop activities
• Operating forklift as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing workshop (essential)
• Valid forklift licence (essential)
• Overhead crane experience (essential)
• Strong experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to follow instructions and work within a team
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
• Reliable transport and strong work ethic
• Stable work history highly regarded (reference checks will be made)
