Medihire & Sales: Workshop Technician - Mobility Equipment Service and Repairs.

Medihire & Sales (MH&S) is a leading WA-owned and operated retail sales and hire company specialising in mobility products and home care aids for the aged, disabled, infirm and post-surgery consumer markets.

We presently have an opening for a Workshop Technician - Mobility Equipment Servicing and Repairs based at our Midland branch.

Service van/vehicle provided for pick-ups and deliveries.

Job overview:

·       Work Minimum 24hrs+ per week (3days) onsite at Midland workshop location and offsite at customers’ homes when required.

·       Responsible for the repair and maintenance of MH&S Hire equipment fleet, which includes mobility scooters, power chairs, wheelchairs, electric hoists, electric hospital beds and other mobility/living aides.

·       Must be customer-friendly, clean and well presented

·       Good communication skills, both written and verbal

·       Ability to troubleshoot

·       Shoprider certification is preferable or willingness to undertake training (essential)

·       Well organised and able to work autonomously

o   Take initial enquiries and troubleshoot with customers over the phone

o   Co-ordinate and schedule jobs

o   Estimate and quote repair costs

o   Identify and source parts and order as needed

o   Carry out necessary repairs

o   Update Service records and relevant databases

It is expected that the candidate will possess the following attributes:

·       General mechanical knowledge

·       General electrical knowledge

·       Computer skills

Other requirements:

WA Police Clearance – or willingness to undergo the clearance procedure

NDIS Clearance - or willingness to undertake the clearance procedures

Excellent driving record

Suitable hourly rate to be negotiated; commensurate with experience.
