About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small crew and ensuring landscaping and grounds maintenance works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading by example, and taking ownership of job quality and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff

• Coordinate daily work activities and site requirements

• Lawn mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, and garden maintenance

• Weed control and vegetation management

• Planting, mulching, irrigation repairs, and landscape works

• Complete daily pre-starts, safety checks, and site documentation

• Ensure all works are completed to client specifications

• Train and mentor team members

• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and vehicles

• Liaise with supervisors, clients, and stakeholders when required

• Promote a strong safety culture across all worksites

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Previous experience in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance

• Experience leading or supervising a team

• Current Driver's Licence

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage workloads

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

Desirable

• Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent

• White Card

• Chemical Accreditation (AQF3)

• MR or HR Licence

• Traffic Management tickets

• First Aid Certificate

• Experience working on council or commercial maintenance contracts
