This is a unique opportunity to work with advanced robotic technology that helps vessel owners reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact. You'll operate cutting-edge underwater robots, work around boats and marinas, and support deployments across Australia and internationally.

Successful applicants will begin with a 1-2 day hands-on trial. Candidates who demonstrate the right skills, attitude, and safety mindset may be offered ongoing casual or full-time employment.

The Role

As an Underwater Robot Operator, you will be responsible for preparing, deploying, operating, and maintaining Hullbot's robotic cleaning systems. You will work closely with customers, vessel crews, and fellow operators to deliver safe and high-quality services.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, technology, problem solving, and working outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Hullbot's underwater robotic cleaning systems
  • Prepare equipment and vessels for service operations
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of robotic systems
  • Follow safety procedures and operational processes
  • Complete service reports and operational documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers and vessel crews
  • Support interstate and international deployments when required
  • Participate in occasional night-shift operations where customer schedules require it

About You

You may come from a variety of backgrounds including marine, trades, mechanical, electrical, field service, defence, boating, drone operations, or robotics.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Is comfortable working around boats, marinas and marine environments
  • Enjoys hands-on technical work
  • Has strong problem-solving skills
  • Is reliable, safety-focused and professional
  • Can travel interstate and internationally when required
  • Is willing to work flexible hours, including occasional night shifts
  • Works well independently and as part of a team

Highly regarded but not essential:

  • Experience operating ROVs, drones, robotics, or remote-operated equipment
  • Marine industry experience
  • Mechanical or electrical trade experience
  • Boat licence or maritime qualifications

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive training on Hullbot's robotic systems
  • Opportunity for casual or full-time employment
  • Work in unique marine environments
  • Interstate and international travel opportunities
  • Career growth within a fast-growing technology company
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture
  • The opportunity to contribute to cleaner oceans and more sustainable shipping
