HVAC Site Manager

About the business and the role

Ambient Services Group is an all-in-one commercial asset maintenance provider serving metropolitan Sydney. We work behind the scenes on some of the city’s biggest buildings, offering everything from long-term asset management to emergency spot repairs.

Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking an experienced HVAC Site Manager to join our Construction Division, based in Hillsdale.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day site supervision of HVAC and mechanical services works from site establishment through to practical completion.

• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, direct labour, materials, plant, and site logistics to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the construction programme.

• Support the Project Manager in delivering projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.

• Monitor site progress against the approved programme and report on progress, constraints, and risks.

• Ensure all mechanical works are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and relevant Australian Standards.

• Identify scope gaps, design issues, and potential variations, escalating these to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

• Maintain site safety standards, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, site safety plans, SWMS, and environmental requirements.

• Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities, including attendance at witness testing where required.

• Manage defect identification, rectification, and close-out to achieve practical and final completion.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, builders, and other trades to ensure effective coordination and issue resolution.

• Maintain accurate site records, including daily site reports, delivery dockets, permits, and quality documentation.

• Promote a professional site culture aligned with Ambient Mechanical Services’ standards, values, and expectations.
   

Skills and experience

• Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration trade experience is necessary.

• Site Manager experience within the Sydney commercial HVAC office fit-out market. 

• Excellent client & trade management skills.

• Intermediate level of computer literacy required. 

• A collaborative and team-focused approach.
