Boilermaker/ Welders, Welshpool

Bossong Engineering is a modern and technology-driven engineering company servicing the mining, oil & gas, construction, and heavy industry sectors across Australia.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Boilermaker / Welders to join our workshop team in a full-time position with regular overtime available.

Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in the fabrication and welding of:

• Mining and oil & gas components

• Structural steel assemblies

• Chutes, tanks, spools, skids and heavy steel structures

• Carbon steel, stainless steel and quenched & tempered materials

Work includes:

• FCAW and GMAW welding (GTAW experience desirable)

• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings and weld symbols

• Fabrication, fit-up and assembly work

• Grinding, cutting, shaping and finishing components

• Safe material handling and forklift operation

Experience working to standards such as AS1554 SP, AS3992, ASME IX and AWS D1.1 will be highly regarded.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Cert III Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker)

• Strong FCAW / GMAW welding ability

• Minimum of 3-5 years welding experience is required

• Ability to pass a 2G weld test

• Certification in all welding positions (2G, 3G, and 4G) is required

• Good fabrication and practical workshop skills

• A strong focus on safety and quality

• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude

• The ability to work well within a team environment

Previous mining or oil & gas fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required at the time of application.
