Electronic Equipment Trades Worker

MYTOUCH REPAIRS PTY LTD T/A MYFONE REPAIRS is seeking a skilled and experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to join our growing mobile phone and electronic device repair business located at Westfield Carindale. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing a wide range of electronic communication and mobile devices while ensuring high standards of customer service and technical support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing faults and malfunctions in mobile phones, tablets, laptops, gaming devices, and other electronic communication equipment using specialised diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Repairing and replacing damaged or faulty electronic components including LCD screens, batteries, charging ports, microphones, speakers, cameras, connectors, circuit boards, and internal hardware components.
• Conducting software troubleshooting, firmware updates, data transfers, operating system installations, and restoring devices to proper working condition.
• Dismantling, assembling, and reassembling electronic devices while ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
• Testing repaired equipment to ensure functionality, quality performance, and operational reliability before returning devices to customers.
• Performing precision soldering, micro-soldering, and modular-level electronic repairs using specialised tools and repair equipment.
• Interpreting technical manuals, schematics, repair guides, and electronic specifications to identify and rectify equipment faults.
• Maintaining records of repairs, replacement parts, diagnostic findings, and completed service work in accordance with business procedures.
• Advising customers on repair options, device maintenance, data protection, and technical issues relating to electronic equipment.
• Ordering, handling, and maintaining stock levels of electronic components, accessories, spare parts, and repair tools.
• Ensuring all repair work complies with workplace safety procedures, quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Assisting with continuous improvement of repair procedures, workshop organisation, and technical service operations.

Skills and Requirements:

• Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate III or higher in Electronics, Electronic Equipment Servicing, or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in electronic equipment or mobile device repairs may be preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and electronic communication devices.
• Experience using diagnostic software, testing tools, soldering equipment, and electronic repair instruments.
• Ability to diagnose complex hardware and software faults accurately and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and repair environment while managing multiple repair tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
