Carpenter

We are seeking skilled and motivated Full-Time Carpenters to join our growing residential construction team. We are looking for carpenters with strong experience across residential renovations, extensions and custom home projects, with the ability to work across multiple stages of construction.

This role offers exposure to a wide variety of carpentry and construction work, from structural framing and external works through to detailed finishing and fit-out carpentry. Successful candidates will work closely with an experienced team of builders and tradespeople on high-quality residential projects across Sydney.

The position is suited to individuals who take pride in their workmanship, have strong attention to detail and can work effectively within a professional team environment. We value reliability, communication skills and the ability to deliver work to a high standard within project timeframes.

Task & responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, construction plans, specifications and project documentation to determine materials, measurements and carpentry requirements
• Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber, structural materials and prefabricated components for residential construction and renovation projects
• Constructing and installing wall frames, roof frames, floor systems, staircases and structural supports in accordance with building plans and Australian standards
• Installing doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, cladding, decking, pergolas and other internal and external carpentry finishes
• Carrying out detailed carpentry work for architecturally designed renovations, extensions and new residential homes
• Constructing timber formwork and framework structures required for building and concrete works
• Repairing, modifying and maintaining timber structures and existing building components during renovation and remedial construction projects
• Operating hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently on-site
• Working collaboratively with builders, architects, engineers, subcontractors and other trades to ensure projects are completed to a high professional standard
• Ensuring all carpentry works comply with workplace health and safety requirements, project specifications, timelines and quality standards
• Maintaining clean and organised work areas and ensuring materials and equipment are handled appropriately
• Assisting with site preparation, material handling and coordination of carpentry activities across multiple residential projects

Qualification & experience

Relevant qualification, such as Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification

Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in carpentry or residential construction

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and construction specifications

Experience working on residential renovations, extensions or custom home projects will be highly regarded

Ability to work independently and as part of a professional construction team

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices within the construction industry

Valid driver licence preferred but not essential
