As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure their optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will contribute to our reputation for delivering reliable and high-quality automotive services.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Build and assemble light vehicles' mechanical components according to requirements
  • Inspect vehicles and run diagnostic tests to discover mechanical and electrical  functionality issues
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
  • Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures for vehicle users
  • Keep logs of work and report on issues
  • Running diagnostic tests on vehicles
  • Analysing diagnostic test results
  • Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking system
  •  Checking vehicle lighting systems
  • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
  • Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Maintaining a parts inventory
  • Various other duties in line with this role as directed by  site supervisor

 

Qualifications & experience

  • Certificate 3, Certificate 4 or Diploma in automotive repair or related field.
  • Proven experience as a motor mechanic - minimum 1 year
  • Strong knowledge of automotive  systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
