Landscape Leading Hands

HL Landscapes is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Leading Hand Landscape Gardeners to join our Sydney Construction Teams.

This role is ideal for experienced landscapers who enjoy working on the tools while guiding a crew and helping deliver high-quality landscape construction projects.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand Landscape Gardener, you will play a key role on site by supporting the Site Supervisor and assisting with the day-to-day coordination of landscape construction works while working alongside the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with reading and interpreting landscape plans and drawings

• Leading and supporting crew members on daily site activities

• Assisting with coordination of subcontractors when required

• Ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety and site presentation

• Setting out and installing hardscape and softscape landscape elements

• Constructing landscape features including paved and gravel areas, retaining walls, fences, trellises, pergolas, ponds, barbecues and outdoor furniture

• Preparing seedbeds and planting areas

• Planting trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers and bulbs

• Preparing lawn areas including spreading topsoil, seeding and laying instant turf

Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role you will ideally have:

• A current driver’s licence

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A Construction Industry White Card

• Experience working on landscaping or civil construction sites

• The ability to guide and support team members on site

Advantageous but Not Essential

The following licences and experience would be highly regarded:

• Bobcat and/or Excavator licence

• First Aid certificate

• HR Truck licence

• Previous landscaping experience or a relevant trade qualification
