We are currently seeking an experienced Hose Manager to lead and grow our hose assembly operations. This opportunity has arisen as our current Hose Manager transitions into semi-retirement, creating an excellent opportunity for the right person to step into the role and help shape the future of the organisation.

 

The Role

As the Hose Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our hose assembly workshop while playing a key role in establishing and building a team of technicians as the department grows.

This position combines hands-on technical expertise in hose assembly and crimping with leadership responsibilities, ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant Australian and industry standards while meeting customer requirements and operational targets.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Running the daily operations of the hose workshop, including scheduling jobs, and prioritizing repairs/manufacturing to maximize uptime.

·         Providing hands-on leadership in cutting, crimping, and assembling hydraulic or industrial hoses according to customer specifications

·         Managing inventory levels of hoses, fittings, and accessories, including sourcing, ordering, and conducting stock takes

·         Liaising with customers, processing quotes, and delivering technical hydraulic solutions to clients.

·         Ensuring the workshop operates in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards, including keeping a clean, safe environment and reporting incidents.

 

What We’re Looking For

·         Previous experience as a hose technician, hydraulic fitter, or in a similar workshop supervisory role Ability to work directly with customers and manage orders professionally

·         Strong knowledge of hydraulic hose fittings, crimping machines, and hose management programs.

·         Demonstrated capability to manage a team, drive productivity, and foster a safety-first culture

·         Proficiency in computer systems for managing works orders, inventory and delivery dockets.

·         Ability to perform manual handling

·         Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

·         A team player with a positive attitude and proactive approach

·         Forklift licence and driver’s licence
