We have a requirement for an experienced Electrical fitter to work within our Façade Access Division team. The role will undertake inspection, maintenance and repair work on customer-owned equipment on high-rise towers, including general maintenance, major overhauls and replacement activities in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturer’s instructions.
Profile:
Act appropriately on commercial office and residential sites
Undertake works in accordance with Alimak Group safety, quality, and environmental systems
Ensure quality works are always carried out
Ensure customers’ no-smoking policies and other site-specific requirements are always complied with
Assess the work site and organize the start of works efficiently
Establish and maintain good team working relationships with Service technicians, supervisors, and managers
Identify, assess, and report all hazards related to sites and equipment
Maintain clean and tidy work environment
Provide proactive communication regarding arrival on site, status of equipment and potential hazards
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Undertake routine and annual inspections of BMU and fall-arrest systems
Perform maintenance tasks (e.g. re-greasing, oil changes, wire rope changes) in accordance with equipment manufacturers’ instructions
Diagnose electrical/mechanical faults on inoperable and malfunctioning BMUs
Undertake major inspections of BMUs
Lead BMU refurbishment site activities
Assist with the installation of BMUs, fall-arrest and other vertical access equipment
Undertake and approve BMU commissioning (and recommissioning)
Operate BMUs and provide operator familiarisation training (inductions)
Attributes:
Pragmatic approach to the application of safety protocols
Thoroughness and attention to detail
The ability to work unsupervised
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience on commercial / industrial sites or with cranes / lifts / EWPs or other access equipment.
Trade qualified electrician
Driver’s licence
Rights to work in Australia
Our ideal candidate will have:
"A grade" electrical license
At least 2 years’ experience as a licensed electrician or a mechanical fitter with a restricted electrical licence (connect/disconnect licence)
Work safety at heights training (RIIWHS204D) preferred
Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card) preferred
Dogman and/or Riggers Tickets preferred
