Tractor Operator - Parks

About the role 

This role combines tractor operation with hands‑on horticultural and grounds maintenance work. You’ll be part of a team that keeps Parramatta’s parks and open spaces looking their best for the community.

What you will be doing

• Operating tractors, mowing equipment and powered attachments to maintain park and open spaces across the LGA.
• Completing a planned program of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks to the required service standards.
• Inspecting parks and facilities to help ensure they remain safe, usable and well‑presented.
• Supporting the Parks crew with day‑to‑day maintenance activities, adapting to changing priorities and assisting other crews when required.
• Completing work programs efficiently, safely and to agreed service standards.
• Using Council’s digital systems (including iPad‑based software) to record work, complete checklists and report issues.
• Providing feedback on equipment, processes and improvements to help keep operations running smoothly.

What’s on offer

We have 2 x Permanent Full-Time opportunities. Monday-Friday- 38hrs per week. 

We are offering an attractive weekly rate from $1,261.29 to $1,332.12 plus 12% superannuation. 

This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, this could include the Adverse Working Conditions Level Allowance.

You will also bring:

• Experience operating tractors, mowing equipment and other plant safely and efficiently.
• Experience in parks maintenance, horticulture or groundskeeping.
• Experience operating tractors, mowing equipment and other plant safely and efficiently.
• The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to assist other teams when needed.

Licences

• NSW Driver Licence (Class C) 
• Construction industry certificate “White Card”
• MR Driver licence (Desirable)
