About the role

Join LGI’s Projects team as a Manufacturing Lead – Mechanical Fitter, and play a key role in the design and delivery of LGI's pipeline of renewable energy projects, including Landfill Gas to Energy and Battery Storage facilities.

This role leads the manufacture and mechanical assembly of LGI equipment including abatement Flare systems, Gas Conditioning Skids, Power Station mechanical infrastructure and landfill gas interconnecting pipe systems. The role oversees hour-day-week workshop manufacturing activities and supports site installation and commissioning when required.

This Brisbane-based role includes intermittent travel across the east coast. When travelling, LGI provides vehicles, accommodation, and meal allowances.

What you’ll do

Own and lead hour-day-week workshop fabrication and mechanical assembly activities  - reporting on manufacturing schedules, delivery timeframes and inventory 

Perform and supervise equipment assembly, pipe fabrication, and welding for Flares, Gas Conditioning Skids, and Power Stations, including site interconnecting infrastructure

Procure materials and manage manufacturing stock, including long lead-time items to meet project delivery timelines

Supervise Contractors, and Apprentices within multiple work fronts to maintain a safe, organised and productive workshop environment

Interpret and mark-up engineering drawings and P&IDs to ensure accurate manufacturing outcomes

Support mechanical installations and commissioning activities on project sites

What we’re looking for

  • Trade Qualification – Mechanical Fitter

  • Construction White Card

  • Forklift (LF) License

  • Current Driver's Licence

  • Practical and hands-on ownership of manufacturing outcomes

  • Positive, team-focused attitude with a strong safety mindset

  • Able to own and manage multiple work fronts across both workshop and site environments

  • Desirable: EWP 11mtrs & Above License and Working at Heights Certification
