Air Conditioning Technician

Commercial & Industrial $50–$65 per hour + vehicle

We are currently seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Technician to join our professional and growing team. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work across a wide range of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, including central plant, VRF, DX split ducted systems, rooftop package units, and split systems.

Experience with the installation of air conditioning pipework will be highly regarded and will add further diversity to the role.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing expert preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and servicing of commercial and industrial air conditioning and ventilation systems. The role suits a technically strong technician who values safety, quality workmanship, and professional client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Servicing

• Carry out routine preventative maintenance to ensure system efficiency and reliability

• Check operating pressures and temperatures

• Inspect electrical and mechanical components

• Maintain system cleanliness and overall condition

• Assist with planning and execution of scheduled maintenance programs

• Maintain and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS)

Diagnosis & Repair

• Diagnose faults across a range of air conditioning and ventilation systems

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues

• Repair or replace components such as compressors, motors, fans, valves, flow controls, and associated electrical parts

• Test systems, confirm correct operation, and make necessary adjustments

Customer Service & Documentation

• Communicate professionally with clients and provide technical advice

• Accurately document repairs, fault findings, hours worked, and parts used

• Maintain detailed and compliant service records

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to WHS requirements and company safety procedures

• Work safely in varied environments, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions

• Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards and relevant regulations

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence

• Queensland Restricted Electrical Licence

• QBCC Occupational Licence

• Current Queensland Driver's Licence

• Strong technical understanding of refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and controls

• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Strong commitment to WHS and safe work practices

• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Physically fit and capable of manual work

• Must have Australian Working Rights

Desirable

• Experience with commercial and industrial systems

• Knowledge of controls or Building Management Systems (BMS)

• Current tickets for Working at Heights, EWP, and Confined Space
