This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

Butler Primary School (PS) opened in 2003 and received Independent Public-School status in 2012. The school is a Level 6 school and accommodates over 500 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school environment and facilities are well maintained to ensure they cater for the needs of our students through ample play areas and well-maintained grounds.

The Role

As the Senior Gardener - Handyperson, you will work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will ideally maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant would perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.

    3. Demonstrated experience in servicing horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
    4. Demonstrated knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.
    5. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising staff.
