Evolution Precast (Qld) Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time Renderer (Solid Plaster) to join our team.
The remuneration for this position is AU$115,000 – AU$125,000 per annum plus superannuation.
- Preparing concrete substrates, including precast panels, walls and structural elements, by cleaning, scraping, keying, patching and applying bonding agents to ensure proper adhesion of cement render and repair materials.
- Assessing surface defects in precast concrete elements, including cracking, spalling, surface voids and dimensional irregularities, and undertaking associated patch rendering and remedial works.
- Measuring and marking out surfaces to establish levels, thickness and alignment of render coats to achieve uniform coverage and specified tolerances.
- Mixing cement, sand, lime and proprietary cementitious render and repair compounds to required ratios and workable consistency suitable for structural and architectural precast applications.
- Applying multiple coats of cement render and patching mortars to precast walls, columns and structural surfaces using trowels, floats and straightedges.
- Levelling and smoothing render coats to achieve uniform thickness, true lines and compliant architectural finishes in accordance with project specifications and Australian Standards.
- Plumbing and straightening corners, angles and vertical surfaces, and fixing corner beads and reinforcement where required prior to rendering.
- Repairing cracks, chips and damaged sections of precast components by removing defective material, applying bonding agents and reinstating surfaces to the original profile and finish.
- Blending repaired areas with surrounding rendered surfaces to ensure consistent texture, colour and appearance across completed works.
- Applying and finishing protective and functional render systems, including fire-resistant, acoustic and weatherproofing materials, where required for commercial and industrial projects.
- Installing and finishing joint treatments and surface sealants to prevent moisture ingress and ensure durability of rendered precast structures.
- Interpreting construction drawings, engineering details and specifications to determine rendering requirements and ensure works align with structural and aesthetic project standards.
- Maintaining rendering tools and equipment in good working order and complying with workplace health and safety requirements when handling cementitious materials and performing rendering work on construction sites.
- Completing relevant trade-level quality documentation relating to materials used and rendering works performed.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Solid Plastering or a related trade qualification, or alternatively, at least three years of relevant full-time work experience where formal qualifications are not held.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience as a Solid Plasterer or in a closely related role.
Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of concrete and solid plastering repair works.
- Ability to interpret job specifications and assess surface conditions.
- Sound communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
