Welder

P6 Services Pty Ltd is a metal fabrication business based in Shepparton, specialising in custom fabrication, welding, and structural steel work. The business primarily supports the agricultural sector, delivering high-quality fabrication and repair services for farming tools and equipment.Due to ongoing demand, we are seeking a skilled Welder to support workshop operations. The role involves hands-on fabrication and welding work, maintaining high workmanship standards, and contributing to a collaborative workshop environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to determine project requirements.

• Select suitable metal materials and prepare them through cleaning, organizing, and setup for fabrication. Performing MIG, TIG and Arc welding to industry standards.

• Cut metal components to precise dimensions using manual tools, cutting torches, and industrial cutting machinery.

• Shape and bend pipes and sections through mechanical equipment, manual methods, or heat treatment techniques.

• Accurately align and position components using measuring instruments and hand tools.

• Assemble and secure metal parts using welding, riveting, and bolting processes.

• Inspect welds to verify compliance with quality standards for size, depth, and accuracy.

• Carry out finishing operations such as cleaning, polishing, filing, or acid treatment to achieve final product quality.

• Smooth and refine welds by grinding, chiselling, or filing to deliver a clean, professional finish.

Qualification & experience

The ideal candidate needs to have 

• Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Engineering and demonstrate at least one year of relevant industry experience.

• Ability to effectively organise, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and provide regular progress updates.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening and inquiry abilities.
