About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Technical Sales Representative to support the growth of our sponsorship, partnership and technology-focused event portfolio.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding client needs and presenting commercial solutions that create value.

You will work with prospective clients across the proptech, construction technology, infrastructure technology and built environment sectors, helping them connect with key decision-makers through FuturePlace’s events, media, advisory and partnership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Identify, engage and develop relationships with prospective clients within the proptech, construction technology, infrastructure technology and built environment sectors.
  • Present and promote FuturePlace's event sponsorship, partnership, media and advisory solutions to prospective clients.
  • Conduct client needs analysis and recommend suitable commercial opportunities aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations and commercial agreements.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract execution and account management.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through market research, networking and outbound business development activities.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events and client meetings.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts and activity reports using CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with marketing, content and event teams to deliver high-value solutions for clients.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and market developments within the real estate and construction sectors.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, Engineering or a related discipline or five years of work experience in lieu of qualification.
  • At least one - two years of experience in technical sales, B2B sales, business development or account management.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technology, digital solutions or professional services to business stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing proposals and presenting solutions to senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, client meetings and FuturePlace events to build relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records, client notes, pipeline updates, forecasts and reporting through CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing, content, event and leadership teams to develop high-value commercial solutions for clients.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitor activity and market developments across the real estate, construction, infrastructure and technology sectors.
  • Support the achievement of sponsorship, partnership and commercial revenue targets through consistent business development and account management activity.

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or at least five years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualification.
  • At least one to two years of experience in technical sales, B2B sales, business development or account management.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting and promoting commercial solutions to business clients.
  • Ability to explain complex technology, digital solutions, media, events, sponsorships, partnerships, advisory services or professional services to business stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing proposals, presentations and commercial recommendations for prospective clients and senior decision-makers.
  • Experience managing client relationships and supporting long-term commercial partnerships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and ability to identify client needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline and handle multiple client opportunities at the same time.
  • Experience or knowledge of the property, construction, infrastructure, technology, proptech or built environment sectors will be highly regarded.
