Prestige Pet Products is a family-owned National Wholesaler of Pet Products and accessories established for over 28 years in supplying the Pet Industry across Australia and overseas.
An opportunity to join our valued team as the Business Development Manager in Queensland has become available. This is an extremely rare opportunity and an important role within the business.
Our office and warehouse facilities are based in Caboolture, Queensland, however the requirement to work autonomously is essential. This is a face-to-face sales role spending the vast majority of the working week in the field.
Working under the supervision and guidance of the Operations Manager and Director, your role is to service and grow our existing customer base in Queensland, Northern New South Wales and other states, whilst developing our business with potential new customers across the territory. Country and interstate travel including overnight stays will be a mandatory part of this role.
Use your extensive skillset to expand the existing sales territory whilst demonstrating enthusiasm around our exciting product ranges and build solid relationships with our valued customer base.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Account Management & Development of new business growth.
· Working with the Head Office Support Team to successfully manage selected company key accounts.
· Review sales orders and targets daily, reporting to the Operations Manager and Director on a regular basis.
· Organisational Skills with the ability to forward plan with call cycles and customer follow ups. Completing Diary entries via Outlook Calendar on a daily basis.
· Drive sales and revenue growth by identifying opportunities including gaps in product ranges with existing and new potential customers and presenting product recommendations and solutions.
· Stay informed about our wide range of pet products to provide expert advice and solutions to clients.
· Assist in achieving or exceeding budgets to maximise profitability.
· Maintain/obtain a sound and current knowledge of the Pet Product Industry including market activity and support identification of new opportunities.
· To provide customer feedback to management to help shape product offerings and strategies.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients through the provision of the highest quality of service delivery.
· Review, access and report on targets and pipelines as required.
· Monitor any relevant objectives and targets for the business unit.
Your Skills and Experience:
· Minimum 2+ years' experience in Account Management in a similar role.
· Understanding of the Pet Industry is preferred but not essential.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and website e-commerce processes.
· High level customer management skills - Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a knack for building lasting relationships.
· Solid understanding of selling principals.
· Forward Planning and organising call cycles in the most efficient way.
· Ability to attend industry trade shows as required from time to time.
· The ability to assess and review sales reports and identify strengths and weaknesses then use this information to strengthen and grow customer ranges.
· Demonstrated commitment to best practice delivery of customer service.
· Ability to deliver sales and service as per budget.
· Commitment to meet and or exceed relevant targets and KPI's.
