Detailed Job Responsibilities
Determine product mix, stock levels, and service standards to meet customer demand and company objectives across all four locations.
Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies while setting competitive and profitable pricing strategies for bakery products.
Develop and execute promotional campaigns and advertising strategies to increase brand awareness and drive sales across the Central Coast.
Sell goods and services directly to customers, providing professional advice on product selection, custom cake orders, and gluten-free options.
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, purchases, sales, and financial transactions for effective monitoring and reporting.
Undertake budgeting responsibilities, ensuring profitability and efficient allocation of resources across retail operations.
Organise, supervise, and train retail staff, fostering a culture of customer service excellence and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, food safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to develop strategies for improving store performance.
Implement loss prevention strategies and maintain effective inventory control systems to minimise shrinkage.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee timely stock replenishment of fresh ingredients and bakery supplies.
Ensure the retail environment is well-presented, clean, and adheres to company branding standards.
Drive customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, managing service quality, and consistently exceeding expectations – especially for custom cake orders and special occasions.
Qualifications and Experience
A qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher in retail management, business, or a related field.
At least two to three years of relevant retail management experience
Relevant on-the-job training and/or experience may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in the food, bakery, or hospitality industry is highly regarded.
