Task & responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control the overall operations of the supermarket.
• Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement purchasing, pricing and promotional strategies.
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Maintain inventory control systems and coordinate stock ordering and replenishment.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate purchasing arrangements.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance reports.
• Recruit, train, supervise and performance-manage retail staff.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and effectively resolve customer complaints.
• Monitor store presentation, merchandising and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company policies.
• Maintain records of stock, sales transactions and business performance.

Qualification & experience

• Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Retail Management or a related field or relevant experience.
• At least 1-3 years of relevant retail management experience.
• Previous experience managing a retail store, supermarket or similar business.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage staff, inventory and store operations.
• Sound understanding of budgeting, sales reporting and customer service principles.
