We are looking for a full-time Retail Manager to join our team.
The remuneration for this position is AU$76,000 - AU$86,000 per annum plus superannuation.
- Planning and coordinating the day-to-day retail operations of the general store and café to ensure efficient service delivery and achievement of business objectives.
- Determining merchandise and product ranges, monitoring stock requirements, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels across retail and café product lines.
- Conducting stocktakes, reviewing inventory records, investigating stock discrepancies, and implementing inventory control measures to minimise wastage and stock shortages.
- Sourcing products and supplies, evaluating supplier performance, maintaining supplier relationships, and negotiating purchasing arrangements to achieve quality, availability, and cost objectives.
- Establishing and reviewing pricing structures for retail and café products, taking into account market conditions, supplier costs, sales performance, and profitability targets.
- Developing and implementing promotional, merchandising, and local marketing initiatives to increase customer traffic, enhance brand awareness, and support sales growth.
- Monitoring sales trends and customer purchasing patterns, analysing operational data, and identifying opportunities to improve product offerings and business performance.
- Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained, responding to customer enquiries and complaints, and implementing measures to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Supervising retail and café staff, including participating in recruitment activities, coordinating staff rosters, allocating duties, and monitoring employee performance.
- Providing training, coaching, and ongoing support to staff to ensure adherence to operational procedures, customer service standards, and workplace expectations.
- Monitoring labour utilisation and staffing requirements to ensure efficient allocation of resources while maintaining service standards.
- Assisting with the preparation and management of operational budgets, monitoring expenditure, and implementing cost-control measures to support profitability.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to stock movements, sales transactions, purchasing activities, and operational performance.
- Preparing and reviewing operational and financial reports relating to sales, inventory levels, supplier performance, and business outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with food handling requirements, workplace health and safety procedures, and relevant regulatory obligations applicable to retail and café operations.
- Coordinating the presentation and merchandising of retail products and café offerings to maximise product visibility, sales opportunities, and customer engagement.
Qualifications
- At least a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Retail Management, Business, Management, Commerce or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a retail management position, preferably within a general store, convenience store, specialty retail outlet, food retail business, or similar customer-focused environment.
Skills
- Strong retail operations and inventory management skills, including stock control, stocktakes and inventory monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train and supervise staff, including rostering, performance monitoring and team development.
- Sound customer service, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer enquiries and complaints.
- Ability to analyse sales performance, support pricing and purchasing decisions, and assist with budgeting and cost control activities.
