Retail Manager (General)

Key Responsibilities 

• Determine and manage the store’s product range, including beer, wine, spirits, RTDs, and promotional stock, ensuring alignment with customer demand and seasonal trends.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering from approved liquor suppliers, and manage inventory control systems to minimise shrinkage and stock loss.
• Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and in-store merchandising plans to maximise revenue and profitability.
• Promote and advertise products through in-store displays, catalogues, loyalty programs, and approved marketing channels.
• Ensure strict compliance with liquor licensing legislation, RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) requirements, and age verification procedures.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations, banking processes, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and manage store budgets, analyse sales performance reports, and implement strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Recruit, train and supervise retail staff, ensuring all employees hold valid RSA certification and follow company policies.
• Manage staff rosters, performance evaluations, and workplace health and safety compliance.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally, particularly in relation to liquor sales and responsible service obligations.
• Direct and coordinate daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, security controls, and stock audits.

Skills & Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma

• At 1-3years of relevant management experience in a retail or customer service environment.
