Retail Manager

EJ Newtown Pty Ltd (El Jannah Newtown) is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Retail Manager to join our team.

We offer an annual basic salary of $78,000 plus superannuation. The successful candidate will also be entitled to other benefits provided under the law. 

Task & responsibilities

The role of a Retail Manager will perform duties and responsibilities, including the following:

• Manage and control the daily operations of the retail store/restaurant to ensure efficient service
• Organise the store, manage the sale of goods to customers, and ensure that the food served is in accordance with the restaurant’s high-quality standards
• Control the price, set budget and sales targets, monitor sales, expenses and costs, with the end of increasing sales and productivity
• Maintain stock levels, control inventory and devise plans and rules to minimise wastage
• Develop and implement marketing campaigns, plans and promotions to advertise the store and its products, both on social media and various industry-wide platforms
• Recruit, hire, train and manage staff; supervise the preparation of staff roster 
• Practice excellent customer service skills and assist in resolving customer service issues, if necessary
• Ensure compliance with food safety rules, and occupational health and safety regulations

Qualification & experience

The successful candidate must have the following:

• At least one year full time relevant work experience
• Advanced Diploma or higher, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience    
• Excellent managerial skills
• Exceptional communication skills 
• Proactive with ability to work as part of a busy team
• Excellent problem-solving skills 
• Experience in hospitality industry may be an advantage
