Retail Manager

We are currently seeking for a full-time Retail Manager for our business located in Wollongong to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine you knowledge and passion with your leadership experience in a fast growing company while progressing your carrer growth as well

Your duties will include: 

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure smooth workflow
• Ensure the store is clean, organised, and visually appealing
• POS Usage and dealing with everyday cash and manage opening and closing procedures
• Recruit, train and supervise florists and sales staff and create staff schedules and manage payroll hours
• Ensure excellent customer service standards
• Monitor fresh flower stock and ensure minimal wastage by stock rotation to maintain freshness and quality
• Order fresh flowers, floral supplies from wholesalers and negotiate with suppliers for pricing and quantity
• Track deliveries and manage storage conditions
• Deliver exceptional customer service by handling customer inquiries, complaints and special requests and drive sales through upselling and promotional activities
• Assist with large orders (weddings, events, corporate contracts) and build strong relationship with repeat customers
• Monitor daily sales and store performance, prepare sales report, manage budgets and control costs, especially perishable inventory
• Coordinate seasonal promotions (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Weddings etc.) and develop partnerships with event planners, wedding venues, and businesses
• Manage social media, local advertising and online website
• Coordinate in-store displays and promotional campaigns
• Oversee large floral orders, event installations and ensure timely delivery and quality control by coordinating with logistics for wedding and corporate events

Qualification & experience

• AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in management and at least 1-2 year of relevant work experience or 1-2  year substitute experience.
• Proven experience in achievieng sales targets
• Strong leadership and team management skills 
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Financial management (budgeting, POS systems, reporting)
• Flexible availabity, including weekends and public holidays
• Physical ability to stand long hours and lift stock
• Australian citizen or permanent residents preferred but not mandatory
