They provide specialist 24x7x365 services to the National and Wholesale Electricity Markets (the NEM and the WEM) for small to mid-size owners and operators of utility-scale renewable energy generation and storage assets. The RoleAn opportunity to join a young, small and forward-thinking organisation whose staff are committed to supporting the transition to clean and reliable power.Due to continued growth our client is looking for a bright ambitious person to join us as the Deputy Operations Manager and expand the depth and strength of our Operations Team.The role can be carried out remotely and you will be able to work anywhere in Australia. The team will provide you with all the equipment required to carry out the role. Be the main point of contact for selected clients, from mobilisation and into operationsBe the line manager for selected operational staff, responsible for their performance and developmentBe the point of contact and SME for selected areas of AEMO or other market related mattersHelp identify and support the development of complementary new services to existing clients and to new marketsDeputise for the Operations Manager in full when necessaryBecome part of the weekly on-call 24x7 Duty Manager roster, where you will be the:o first escalation point for the Operations Controller (OC)o receive alarms and phone calls when the OC is otherwise engagedo run regular operational stand-up calls to co-ordinate resources for a shift, ando escalate to the Operations Manager if needed. About YouAt least 5 years’ experience in NEM real-time market operations, from generator trading,AEMO real-time operations or some real-time market operations exposure from a Network Services ProviderYou will be naturally fascinated by how real-time electricity market operations works and excel in describing this to customers and the team.You will have been exposed to 24x7 operations and Duty Management regimes andunderstand how to manage them for yourself and your staffYou will have managed small teams and the performance and development of individualsYou will be looking for a fresh challenge, perhaps wanting to step up and take more responsibility or looking for more freedom of action.
