The role includes safe operation of heavy trucks, transport of materials and performing basic vehicle and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations.

Task & responsibilities

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Operate quad dog, semi’s, or live bottom semis to cart asphalt, aggregates, profiling, and quarry materials
  • Transport asphalt to paving sites while maintaining proper temperature and load safety
  • Haul materials between quarry, plant, and job sites efficiently and safely
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Conduct basic maintenance such as fueling, greasing, fluid checks, tyre checks, and minor repairs for quality and safety
  • Ensure weight estimation complies with load limitations and safe distribution and lifting and tipping devices are used to load and unload vehicle
  • Report mechanical issues promptly to maintenance staff
  • Follow all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and inspection reports
  • Assist ground crew as needed during paving or quarry operations

Qualification & experience

Qualification & experience

  • Valid Australian Heavy Vehicle driver’s license (HC) held for a minimum of 6 months
  • Valid White Card
  • At least 2 years of work experience
  • Must have experience relevant to asphalt/quarry works and operating live bottom trailers
  • Knowledge of basic truck and equipment maintenance
  • Strong awareness of job-site safety practices

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently, unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing
  • Applicants will be required to pass driving assessment
