Senior Commercial and Property Lawyer

About the Role
This role primarily focuses on commercial property work, with a broad portfolio that includes leasing, development, property disputes, and complex property issues such as easements and adverse possession. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers, providing high level advice and support on a variety of files.

In addition to core property work, you will have exposure to the Retirement and Aged Care Sector, offering commercial advice to providers and addressing property-related matters. You will also assist with some compulsory acquisition projects, and contribute to the legal support for the conveyancing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse range of commercial property files, including leasing, development, and property disputes
• Advising on complex property issues, such as easements and adverse possession
• Providing legal support on matters in the Retirement and Aged Care Sector
• Assisting with compulsory acquisition projects
• Collaborating with conveyancing clerks and assisting with high level property work
• Acting for landowners and, where applicable, on authority-side matters

About You

• PQE of approximately 7 years, with substantial experience in commercial property law
• Proven expertise in acting for landowners and experience with compulsory acquisition matters
• Strong transactional skills, with the ability to handle complex property issues
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
