Are you a skilled negotiator with a passion for shaping transport infrastructure outcomes across Queensland? As a Senior Property Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of critical projects by providing expert property advice, leading complex acquisition and disposal activities, and working directly with landowners and stakeholders.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure by developing acquisition strategies, managing sensitive negotiations, and interpreting legislation and case law. You’ll represent TMR in community forums, build strong stakeholder relationships, and ensure land required for projects is secured efficiently and professionally.

In the role of Senior Property Officer you will provide advice on property matters to facilitate decision making in the planning of transport infrastructure projects. You will be involved in public consultation, developing acquisition and disposal strategies, negotiating and influencing collaborative outcomes with stakeholders and effective project management.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide specialist property advice in relation to acquisition/resumption of land for transport infrastructure projects and property disposals.
  • Represent the Property Acquisitions and Disposals unit at community forums and meetings, where you will consult with landowners and other proprietary interests in land and their advisors.
  • Conduct sensitive acquisition/compensation negotiations with impacted parties and their advisors.
  • Provide clear and timely legal and physical right of way to land required for transport infrastructure projects of TMR or clients of TMR throughout Queensland.
  • Apply and interpret case law and legislation for compulsory acquisition and other property dealings.
  • Ensure successful completion of your projects within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.

We recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role. We will assess your experience, knowledge and acquired skills, as well as your potential for development and your personal qualities.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Must hold a current Class C drivers' licence or be able to acquire immediately.
  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
