About The Position
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Commercial Estimator to join a well-established team in a permanent, office based role located in Milton, QLD. In this position, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate property repair assessments and detailed scopes of work, ensuring projects are costed correctly and aligned to client expectations. With a strong focus on KPIs, precision in costings, and high quality customer service, this role offers the chance to contribute to a fast paced, professional environment where your expertise and attention to detail will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities Include
Coordinate and schedule trades to undertake initial make-safe works to prevent further loss or damage. Conduct thorough assessments of property damage, either onsite or remotely, in accordance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and insurer requirements. Prepare detailed and professional causation reports and Scope of Works for both minor and major building losses. Identify high-risk work as part of assessments and support HSEQ planning and assurance activities. Engage appropriate specialist trades for complex or technical assessments, reviewing and incorporating findings into reports as required. Ensure all estimations comply with relevant legislation, codes, and HSEQ standards. Communicate effectively with customers, insurers, and other stakeholders, clearly outlining the insurance and repair process. Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the estimation process through timely and professional communication. Submit completed assessments and reports within agreed timeframes and service levelagreements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in all internal and external CRM and job managementsystems. Follow established business procedures and actively support continuous improvementinitiatives. Provide technical advice and support to internal teams, including administration and customerservice functions. Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed in line with business requirements. Be available for overtime and travel during high-volume periods or major event responses. Ability to travel and work outside standard hours during surge periods (as required)
Skills & Experience Required
Trade qualification or tertiary education in building, construction management, or a related field Builders / Supervisors Licence White Card Current drivers licence Minimum 35 years experience in building estimating, insurance assessment, or a related
construction or trade-based role.
Solid understanding of residential and/or commercial construction methods, materials, and
building codes
Demonstrated experience preparing scopes of work and damage causation reports Strong working knowledge of insurance industry practices, especially in property claims High level of written communication skills for professional reporting Sound knowledge of HSEQ practices and relevant legislation Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.
