Marketing Officer We are seeking a skilled and creative Marketing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and coordinate marketing activities that promote Council’s services, programs, and initiatives, helping to build a strong sense of community connection and a positive public image for Glenorchy.

The position plays a key role in shaping how Council communicates with the community by delivering engaging content, supporting staff with marketing and engagement initiatives, and identifying innovative ways for the community to connect with Council. You will work closely with internal teams, community groups, and stakeholders to ensure Council’s messages are clear, accessible, and aligned with organisational goals. Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate marketing activities that promote Council services, programs, events, and place‑based initiatives.

Develop and deliver integrated marketing plans aligned with Council’s strategic objectives. Create and manage content across digital, print, multimedia, and web platforms. Collaborate across teams to align marketing efforts and support delivery of the city marketing action plan and Glenorchy brand.

Support the design and coordination of creative engagement initiatives that ensure broad community representation. Contribute to the delivery of Council’s Community Engagement Framework and help build an engagement‑focused culture across the organisation. Undertake face‑to‑face and written communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on Council projects.

What you’ll bring:Essential:Relevant experience in a marketing role

Relevant experience in graphic design, content creation and editing

Current registration to work with vulnerable people (RWVP)Desirable: Brand development experience

Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related discipline

Drivers Licence To be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated experience developing and delivering integrated marketing and promotion strategies that achieve measurable outcomes.Proven ability to coordinate multi‑channel marketing activities across digital, print, media, and events to engage diverse audiences. Strong content creation and digital capability, including graphic design, video production, and website/social media management. Well‑developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build effective relationships.

 Position details:Full-time (76 hour fortnight) with a rostered day off
