Do you have deep roots in the Australian strata industry? Are you ready to turn your network and credibility into real commercial impact at a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company?Good news — we've got the perfect opportunity for you! We're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive Town Square's growth across the East Coast — and help us become the category-defining platform in strata management in Australia. About Us BetterLabs is one of Perth’s leading startup builders, combining a $23m venture fund with an in-house venture studio. Backed by RAC WA, one of Australia's most trusted member organisations, we identify and build high-potential businesses using a lean, hands-on approach. Town Square is our communications platform purpose-built for strata management teams. We replace fragmented, manual processes with smart workflows, automations and AI — helping teams work faster, communicate better, and deliver a better experience to the communities they manage.Town Square is already live and growing. This is a rare chance to join a venture-backed product at a pivotal moment — with the backing, relationships and platform to build something with real scale and lasting impact. About the role The Business Development Manager is Town Square's primary driver of new client growth, responsible for building our pipeline, converting prospects into signed clients, and establishing Town Square's presence across the East Coast strata market. The Australian strata industry is relationship-driven. Trust travels through networks, not inbound channels. This role is for someone who can walk into a room at an SCA event and already be known — and who can convert that credibility into signed agreements. You'll have a genuine seat at the table helping shape our growth, product and commercial strategy. Success means a growing pipeline, signed contracts, and a reputation for Town Square as the platform serious strata professionals choose. This is a fully remote role with regular travel across the East Coast. You'll need to be based in NSW, QLD or VIC and comfortable being on the road frequently — attending industry events, visiting clients and building relationships in person. We’re hungry, collaborative, curious — and we share the table. We're looking for someone who thrives on relationships, brings genuine strata industry depth, and has the commercial instinct to turn a warm conversation into a signed contract. You'll be a great fit if you have:An established East Coast strata network — you already know the people who matter in the industryDeep strata experience — as a former strata manager, company principal, or senior supplier into the industryA proven track record in business development or sales — comfortable building a pipeline and closingConfidence presenting and demonstrating software to senior decision-makers — company owners, GMs and franchise networksExperience identifying and developing referral or channel partnershipsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at owner and GM levelA collaborative, self-directed working style — this is a small, founder-led team and you'll operate with real autonomy And you're probably the kind of person who:Is commercially sharp but genuinely cares about the industry they serveBuilds trust quickly and sustains it over timeThrives without a large team behind them — resourceful and self-directedIs energised by the early stage — the pace, the ownership, the chance to shape something from the ground upHas a natural bias toward getting things doneIs confident in their convictions but humble enough to take input Experience in a startup or growth-stage environment, and familiarity with proptech or SaaS, will be highly regarded.
