Role Summary The Production Manager, ANZ will independently lead day-to-day physical production execution across Netflix titles in Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for ensuring productions are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest creative and technical standards. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role partners directly with production companies, line producers and UPMs to manage execution, mitigate risk, and drive solutions across all phases of production. This is a high impact individual contributor role requiring exceptional judgment, extensive production experience, and the ability to operate independently in complex, fast paced environments. Key Responsibilities Production Execution & Oversight Independently oversee active productions across ANZ from prep through postServe as the primary Netflix point of contact for day to day production executionPartner directly with Line Producers and UPMs to track schedules, budgets, and milestonesEnsure productions are set up with strong plans, experienced crews, and effective workflowsMaintain a clear, real-time view of production health across assigned titles Risk Management & Decision-Making Proactively identify risks across budget, schedule, resourcing, and technical execution early in development.Drive resolution independently where appropriate; escalate selectively with clear contextMake timely, informed decisions in ambiguous or high pressure situationsAnticipate issues before they impact production and take preventative action Partner & Vendor Management Foster and build trusted relationships with producers, production companies, and key crewAssess vendor capabilities and support productions in making informed choicesEnsure external partners are aligned with Netflix production standards and expectationsMaintain awareness of the ANZ production ecosystem including crew capacity, vendor capabilities, incentives, emerging talent, and market conditionsProvide insight into regional production trends, resourcing challenges, and production opportunities Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams including Content, PM, PF, BATranslate creative intent into clear and executable production plansAlign stakeholders on timelines, budgets, and delivery expectationsCommunicate clearly and concisely on production status, risks, and needs Budget & Schedule Stewardship Review and track production budgets, cost reports, and cash flowsMonitor schedule performance and key milestonesIdentify variances early and provide actionable recommendationsPartner with Production Finance to ensure financial accuracy and accountability On-the-Ground Support Attend set, production offices, and vendor sites as neededProvide hands-on support during critical production phasesTroubleshoot production challenges in real time Ways of Working Operates with a high degree of transparency using modern collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Google Workspace) to keep stakeholders aligned in real timeComfortable working in shared, live documents and dashboards rather than static reportsCommunicates proactively and concisely, reducing reliance on email and fragmented communicationBrings structure and clarity to complex information, making production status easily visible and actionableEmbraces efficient, scalable workflows over manual or legacy processes Experience & Qualifications Experience in physical production; Line Producer, UPM, Senior Production Manager, or equivalentDemonstrated experience overseeing scripted series and/or feature productions from development through deliveryExperience working within a studio, streamer, broadcaster, or commissioning environment is advantageousProven ability to independently manage complex productions, exercising sound judgment and operating effectively with a high degree of autonomyDeep knowledge of production budgeting, scheduling, and operational workflowsExperience working with VFX and post-production workflowsStrong understanding of the Australian production landscape, including crews, vendors, incentives, funding structures, and market dynamicsFamiliarity with the New Zealand production landscape, incentives, and operating environment preferredExperience managing productions involving significant VFX, virtual production, or other complex technical workflows preferred Capabilities & Mindset High Ownership: Independently accountable for production outcomesStrong Judgment: Know when to act vs escalate; make clear, timely decisionsAutonomy: Requires minimal oversight; manages competing priorities effectivelyDirect Communication: Clear, concise, and transparent with stakeholdersResilience: Operates calmly and effectively under pressurePractical Problem Solving: Focused on solutions, not escalation Success in This Role Productions are executed smoothly with minimal oversightRisks are identified early and addressed proactivelyStakeholders are informed, aligned, and unblockedProduction partners are accountable and well managedIssues are resolved at the right level without unnecessary escalationThe Senior Manager is able to focus on slate level strategy Reporting Line Reports to: Senior Manager, ANZ Production Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates.
