The role:

We are seeking proactive and adaptable Security Officers to support three key sites across Victoria. In this role, you will be stationed across the Parkville Youth Justice Centre, ACMI, and a prominent government site in the Melbourne CBD - you will know where you need to be well ahead of time.

This is a highly dynamic, ad-hoc position offering great flexibility. You will play a crucial role to safeguard these premises and its people. You will achieve this by strictly managing facility access, executing thorough security screening, and monitoring perimeter integrity. 

Operational shifts are scheduled Monday through Sunday, primarily consisting of day shifts. With a minimum of 4 hours provided each shift.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing a welcoming, positive, and customer-focused experience for all entering the facilities.
• Managing point-of-entry security, which includes verifying credentials, use of metal detectors, utilising x-ray screening and reception duties when required.
• Conducting regular internal and external perimeter patrols to identify and limit security risks.
• Acting as a critical first responder to all alarms, facility lockdowns, and calls for assistance in accordance with strict site-specific emergency management procedures.
• Provide safe internal escorts for authorised tradespeople, staff, and contractors when required.
• Supporting daily operations by maintaining accurate reports, daily activity logs, and helpdesk records.

What we are looking for:

• Current and valid Victorian Security Licence and Certificate II in Security Operations.
• Control Room Endorsement is essential.
• Current First Aid certificate or willing to renew 
• Valid Working with Children Check Employee or willing to obtain. 
• Strong communication style, both written and verbal.
• Strong, flexible availability across weekdays and weekends.

The recruitment process:

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to attend an on-site interview in Parkville.
If successful after the interview, the G4S Talent Acquisition team will email you a series of items to complete and return: your ID and relevant qualifications, a national police check & a reference check form. 
You will also need to complete and pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
