About the Opportunity

Arcadia is growing, and we are at a point where the right senior leaders will have a real opportunity to shape what comes next. We know that great Principal-level talent does not all look the same, some people thrive in technical delivery, some in commercial and client leadership, and others sit somewhere in between. This opportunity is about finding where your strengths, ambition and energy best align, then giving you the platform to make a genuine impact across our projects, people, clients and studios.

As Principal – Technical, you will be a senior leader responsible for the technical excellence and commercial delivery of landscape architecture projects. This role sits at the intersection of design leadership, project management and people development, requiring deep technical expertise, strong client relationships and the ability to lead a high-performing team.

  • Ensure documentation, detailing and specifications are produced to a high standard across your project portfolio.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resourcing and delivery risks across significant projects.
  • Work closely with clients, collaborators, authorities and technical stakeholders to support strong project outcomes.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues and maintain alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of landscape architecture professionals across multiple levels of the career pathway.

The expertise you’ll bring

  • 12+ years’ professional experience in landscape architecture.
  • A strong track record of leading significant projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Advanced technical skills in design, construction techniques, documentation, detailing and specification writing.
  • Strong project management capability, including managing budgets, programs, resourcing, risk and competing priorities.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, urban planners and project managers.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex relationships clearly and confidently.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and MS Office; hand drawing skills are an advantage.
  • A Bachelor of Landscape Architecture or accepted equivalent skill set is required.
