Task & responsibilities

• Performed maintenance, troubleshooting, and restoration of network infrastructure for multiple clients, achieving a 95% reduction in network downtime. Developed, monitored, and executed technical support functions for telecommunications networks, including the installation of computer equipment, systems, and communication technologies such as microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, and other radio and electromagnetic wave systems.
• Liaised with vendors, suppliers, service providers, and external resources to monitor contractual obligations and ensure performance delivery. Installed, maintained, and modified customer premises communications cabling in accordance with ACMA restricted rules.
• Created and maintained network documentation, including detailed diagrams and configurations. Stayed up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Provided effective support and troubleshooting for modern telecommunications networks, with expertise in FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, FTTB, and FTTX systems.
• Set up and integrated network and telecommunications systems with computer software, hardware, desktops, peripherals, databases, and operating platforms.
• Configured and installed network switches, routers, and access points for client networks. Troubleshot and resolved connectivity issues involving fiber optic and copper cable connections. Installed, maintained, and repaired telecommunications equipment and network infrastructure across various locations, including cell towers, network poles, and customer premises.
• Provided continuous operational support in designing, optimizing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing telecommunications networks to resolve performance issues, defects, and faults.
• Installed, maintained, and modified customer premises communications cabling in compliance with ACMA restricted rules. Applied electrical skills when working with telecommunications networks, ensuring adherence to work health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Utilized optical measuring instruments and worked safely on live optical fiber installations. Hauled and installed underground cables for both installation and maintenance tasks, and constructed underground telecommunications infrastructure.
• Installed, tested, and terminated optical fiber cables on customer premises. Delivered telecommunications services safely on roofs and at heights, adhering to power awareness and ESI safety rules when working on, near, or in proximity to electrical apparatus. Applied all first aid practices and performed all other tasks and duties associated with the NBN network.
• Resolved connectivity issues by troubleshooting fiber optic and copper cable connections. Installed, maintained, and troubleshot telecommunications equipment and networks across various locations, including cell towers, network poles, and customer premises.
• Offered technical guidance and information while monitoring the performance of intricate telecommunications networks and equipment.
• Planned the development of telecommunications network infrastructure for customer access
• Created and maintained logs detailing the locations and status of inventories, parts, equipment, and instruments, while also upholding documentation related to communication policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and quality standards.
• Effectively manages and communicates updates to technical escalations.

• Technical Lead experience delivering projects and directing the technical elements and escalations.

Qualification & experience

• AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or diploma (ANZSCO skills level 2)
• Proven experience in network planning for atleast one to two years
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
