YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Planning & Infrastructure Officer, you will drive best-practice project delivery across all infrastructure-related projects at MACS ensuring strategic prioritisation, resource optimisation, and effective stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for the development of a new Project Management Office (PMO) function to deliver best practice solutions to the project life cycle delivery of MACS school infrastructure projects.

In the MACS Planning and Infrastructure team PMO, you will lead the standardisation of project management processes and systems, oversee project governance, and provide guidance to teams working on new school builds and infrastructure upgrades across our extensive network of schools.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and embed consistent PMO methodologies, tools, and governance practices across the Planning & Infrastructure team.
• Oversee all infrastructure project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting using InEight PMS and SAP.
• Lead capital planning, project prioritisation, and grant application processes aligned with MACS’ strategic plan.
• Guide cross-functional teams in delivering new school builds and major infrastructure upgrades.
• Manage and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, risk, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, lessons learned, and post-occupancy feedback integration.
• Ensure alignment between projects, organisational priorities, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing project delivery team.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a PMO to provide best practice project methodologies and solutions to the management of large-scale infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Proven expertise in establishing a PMO and maintaining project frameworks, capital planning, and risk management processes.
• Experience using project management software (e.g. InEight PMS or similar) and understanding of lifecycle asset management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and drive project excellence across a large and diverse portfolio.
• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or similar.
• Professional accreditation in project management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM/CPPD) is highly desirable.
