Our client is a well-respected name in the automotive industry and they’re offering a rare technical role for an experienced mechanic who wants less grind, more thinking, and still keeps their hands on the tools.
This isn’t a workshop production role.
You won’t be chasing hours or upsells.
You will be trusted as the braking systems expert.
You’ll investigate real problems properly, set up and run your own testing, and work through issues from root cause to solution. When customers, distributors, or internal teams need answers, you’re the one they come to.
What you’ll actually be doing

  • Diagnosing complex braking system and fitment issues
  • Testing new products and running technical investigations
  • Setting up and managing your own testing bay and equipment
  • Supporting warranty assessments and root-cause analysis
  • Creating clear technical bulletins, guides, and training material
  • Providing expert advice to customers, distributors, and internal teams
What you’ll bring
  • Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • 3–5+ years post-trade experience
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of braking systems and diagnostics
  • The ability to work independently and explain technical issues clearly
  • Aftermarket, technical support, or specialist experience is a plus
Why mechanics like this role
  • No flat-rate pressure
  • Real autonomy and trust
  • Technical depth without leaving the tools behind
  • Influence how products, fixes, and training are done properly
If you enjoy thinking as much as wrenching, and you take pride in fixing things the right way, this is a role where your experience genuinely matters.
