We are seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead the strategic growth and operational excellence of our client's Queensland geotechnical and instrumentation engineering business.
 
In this senior leadership role, you will take ownership of business performance across geotechnical investigations, instrumentation and monitoring, client relationships, and team development, helping shape the next phase of growth for a well-established and expanding consultancy.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and drive business development, client engagement, and market growth
  • Set direction and ensure teams are aligned to business and performance objectives
  • Promote and uphold quality, safety, and governance standards
  • Provide senior technical leadership across geotechnical analysis, design, and instrumentation
  • Oversee instrumentation and monitoring services and ensure best-practice delivery
  • Manage financial performance, including revenue, margins, and cost control
  • Represent the business at industry forums, conferences, and key stakeholder meetings
  • Collaborate with leaders across interstate offices to deliver integrated outcomes
About you
  • Degree qualified in Civil, Geotechnical, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering, instrumentation, or business management role
  • Strong background in project planning, delivery, and commercial performance
  • Sound knowledge of quality, safety, and OH&S management systems
  • Established industry network within geotechnical, infrastructure, or related sectors
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder and client-facing skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and empower teams through coaching and collaboration
  • Valid Australian work rights and driver's licence
