Task & responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customer expectations.
• Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and Front of House staff
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• Training other kitchen staff 
• Managing stock levels, ordering food supplies, and minimising wastage.
• Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on food preparation procedures.

Qualification & experience

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

• Have a trade qualification preferred 
• Have at least three years of work experience as a chef 
• Sound understanding of food safety and health regulations 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Great leadership skills 
• Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
