Salary : $80,000 to $82,000 per annum plus superannuation

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our motel. The successful applicant will report directly to Director and will be responsible for the overall management of the property, ensuring efficient operations, exceptional guest experiences, effective staff supervision, financial performance, and compliance with relevant business and regulatory requirements.

Task & responsibilities

• Direct and oversee reservations, reception activities, guest services, and housekeeping operations.
• Manage daily motel operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Supervise staff, prepare rosters, allocate duties, and monitor staff performance.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance.
• Manage occupancy levels, room availability, pricing strategies, and revenue optimisation.
• Oversee booking systems and monitor reservation trends across multiple booking channels.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, repairs, and external contractors.
• Manage supplier relationships, purchasing activities, and operational expenses.
• Oversee administrative and financial processes including invoices, payments, budgeting, and record keeping.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement service improvements.
• Handle guest complaints and escalated issues professionally.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and operational performance.
• Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to business ownership.
• Provide local tourism information and assist guests with travel arrangements where required.
• Supervise security arrangements, garden maintenance, and property maintenance.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Management, or related field, together with at least one year of relevant experience as a Motel Manager, Hotel Manager, or similar accommodation management role;

OR

• Minimum three years of relevant experience as a Motel Manager, Hotel Manager, or similar management role in the accommodation industry.
