BLISS AND BUTTER LOVE is seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join our team in Wahroonga NSW. The role involves preparing, baking and decorating a range of pastries, cakes, desserts and baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, food safety and hygiene. Applicants should have relevant pastry or commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent industry experience, strong baking and preparation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare, bake and decorate pastries, cakes, desserts and other baked goods according to business standards.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately in line with recipes and production requirements.
• Prepare pastry doughs, fillings, creams, icings and decorations.
• Operate ovens, mixers and other pastry kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor baking times, temperatures and product quality to ensure consistency.
• Assist with menu planning, product development and seasonal specials.
• Maintain portion control, stock rotation and waste management procedures.
• Order, receive, store and manage pastry ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Check food freshness, ingredient quality and finished product presentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised pastry preparation area.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Complete temperature checks, cleaning records and production records as required.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to meet customer and business needs.
• Support junior staff or assistants where required.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or a related discipline is required.
• Minimum 1 years of proven experience in a fast-paced and quality-driven kitchen environment.
• Passionate about cooking and delivering high-quality food.
• Punctual, reliable and hard-working.
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure during busy service periods.
