Task & responsibilities

Caltex Sarina is looking for enthusiastic and energetic cook to join them

The cook will be responsible for cooking all the items on the menu in this busy restaurant 

Preparation and cooking of all items to be served by the restaurant

Planning menus and estimating food costs in consultation with the owner 

Supervision of all staff in the kitchen and of the orderly running of the kitchen

Discussing food preparation issues with the manager and other staff members 

Requestioning food, kitchen supplies and equipment

Preparation of many of the items on the menu and the suggestions of the new item 

Using his/her knowledge, experience and best endeavours to Always

Cook and prepare food to the high standards and quality control expected by the restaurant 

Portioning food, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes 

Qualification & experience

Minimum 3 years' experience,

Certificate III in cookery

Positive skill assessment for overseas applicants

Proficiency in operating and maintaining ovens, utilising traditional cooking techniques to achieve authentic flavours 

Strong knowledge of Indian spices and seasoning allowing you to create delectable dishes

Extensive experience working as a cook, particularly in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, delivering consistent results during peak hours 

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment 

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Excellent physical condition with stamina

Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
