Sous Chef
Vin Populi Restaurant is looking for a Sous Chef to join their team based in Fremantle on a full-time basis. Vin Populi is situated at Fremantle’s West End.
We pride ourselves on serving up salumi and fresh pasta daily alongside martinis and vino.
The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu development, stock control, food safety compliance, and maintaining high kitchen standards at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Chef in developing seasonal menus and creating new and appealing dishes
• Provide suggestions and feedback on recipes, preparation techniques, and presentation standards
• Ensure all food produced meets or exceeds the restaurant’s quality standards
• Minimise food wastage and maintain effective portion control
• Monitor deliveries to ensure quality, freshness, and accuracy of stock received
• Communicate purchasing requirements and assist with stock control procedures
• Ensure appropriate storage, labelling, and stock rotation of all ingredients and supplies
• Maintain superior personal hygiene standards and ensure food safety compliance at all times
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
• Assist in supervising and supporting kitchen staff during service periods
Qualifications and Experience:
· Diploma or relevant qualification
· At least 2 years experience in similar role
Salary range:
$79.000 - $85.000 plus superannuation
