As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, including managing inventory levels, ordering stock, supervising staff, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring the efficient operation of the store. The role involves implementing sales and marketing strategies, monitoring financial performance, handling customer enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety and food safety requirements.

Task & responsibilities

  • Determining product mix, stock levels and inventory requirements for roast meats, takeaway meals, burgers, sandwiches, beverages, cakes, catering platters and other food products to meet customer demand.
  •  Formulating and implementing purchasing strategies, pricing structures and promotional activities to maximise sales while maintaining product quality and profitability.
  • Coordinating advertising, social media promotions and local marketing initiatives to promote the business's food products, catering services and special offers.
  • Supervising customer service operations, assisting customers with product selection, handling enquiries and ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies from approved suppliers, maintaining inventory records and minimising stock loss and wastage.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales, stock movements, supplier purchases, daily transactions and other financial information.
  • Assisting with budgeting, cost control, sales forecasting and financial performance monitoring to achieve business objectives.
  • Recruiting, training, rostering and supervising staff to ensure efficient daily operations and delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, workplace health and safety requirements, hygiene regulations and company policies.
  • Managing day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock presentation, merchandising displays and overall operational efficiency

Qualification & experience

  • Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a retail supervisory or management role.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Experience in stock control, staff supervision, and daily business operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
