Chef/Cook needed

We are an established restaurant in Leichhardt/Five dock, looking for a qualified chef to join our team.

Requirements:

• Min 3 yrs experience

• Must be located in sydney, Australia

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher

• Have a passion for cooking,

• Be able to organise production schedules

• Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures

• Have a reliable form of transportation

• Able to Work well under pressure

• Able to demonstrate strong leadership skill and be a team player

• Available 38hrs per week

Tasks:

• Preparing various food items as per the menu

• Prepare daily production list

• Assist Head Chef on a daily basis

• Planning menus, estimating food cost, ordering food supplies, receiving and checking stock to ensure suitable for use.

• Guiding and giving direction to other kitchen staff

• Ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the business specification and commitment to quality.

• Ensure that all station remain stocked before and during the working period.

• Ensure all staff follow recipes and portion servings correctly

• Ensuring proper sanitization of working stations, storage area and entire kitchen area.

• Place food and supplies orders as directed.

• Train kitchen staff and junior staff.

• Organize kitchen meeting to discuss various problem and provide solutions

• Managing staff level in the kitchen area
